COMMON QUESTIONS

WHAT IS A
HOME INSPECTION?

A home inspection is an unbiased evaluation of the condition of the visible and accessible items and components of a home as defined by the Standards of Practice. It is most often performed during a real estate transaction, but can also be performed as warranty inspections and annual maintenance inspections.

WHAT DOES A
HOME INSPECTION INCLUDE?

A home inspection will typically include an examination of the foundation and basement, roof, attic, heating and cooling systems, electrical and plumbing systems, as well as the general condition of the structure itself. I will look for poor construction practices and make note of any repairs that might be required or any general maintenance issues.  I will also make note of any safety issues that need to be addressed.

WHY CHOOSE
REFINE HOME INSPECTION?

With over 1000 inspections performed and 15 years of experience in related fields, I take pride in my profession and do not rely on realtor referrals for my business. This makes me totally unbiased during my inspection.

I'm also the only Certified Master Inspector® in Fremont County.  You can rest assured that you're working with a Highly Experienced, Well-Established Inspector who is up to date on the latest Industry Education and who abides by a strict Code of Ethics. Certified Radon Measurement Professional by the International Association of Certified Indoor Air Consultants (IAC2). I’m also the highest rated Home Inspection company in Fremont County.

DO I NEED TO BE PRESENT
FOR THE INSPECTION?

Although it is not required for the client to be present for the inspection, I highly recommend it. This is a great chance to learn more about the home and ask questions about the condition of the home and how to maintain it.

WHAT DOES A
HOME INSPECTION COST?

Rates will typically not vary more than $100 between different companies, and my fees are based on the square footage of the property. REFINE Home Inspection doesn’t strive to provide the cheapest cost, but rather to provide the best value. I encourage you to not base your decision on price alone, as a home purchase is one of the largest financial decisions you will make in your life.

Quality is remembered long after the price is forgotten.

HOW LONG DOES A
HOME INSPECTION LAST?

Typical inspections last between 2 – 4 hours depending on the age, condition, and size of the home. Larger homes, older homes, or homes with multiple issues always take longer than smaller, newer, well maintained properties.

WHAT IS YOUR
AVAILABILITY?

I typically stay scheduled out about a week.  Some seasons are busier than others and I sometimes have cancellations that allow me to reach appointments sooner.

DO YOU CONDUCT WDI
(TERMITE INSPECTIONS)?

I do not, I focus solely on Home Inspections, but can refer quality pest control inspectors if needed.
